This new four-story brick building was designed for additional
office space for the city of Charlottesville. A data processing
area with RF shielding and a raised computer type floor was
also provided. Our scope of work included plumbing, fire protection,
mechanical and electrical systems. Plumbing design included
gas service and conventional plumbing systems. Fire protection
included a fire alarm system and a wet pipe sprinkler system
with fire pump. Mechanical design utilized fan powered variable
air volume (VAV) terminal units served by a rooftop DX air
handling unit for most of the building. Individual DX computer
room type units served the data processing and UPS rooms.
A gas fired hot water boiler provided heat to the entire building.
Electrical systems included interior lighting and power, emergency
diesel generation, UPS, intercom and security system. |
